Dr. Nathalie Gosselin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Montreal, and a Researcher at the International Laboratory for Brain, Music, and Sound Research (BRAMS) and the Center for Research on Brain, Language, and Music (CRBLM). In 2013, she founded the Laboratory of Research on Music, Emotions, and Cognition (www.musec.ca). Her research focuses on the effects of music on cognition, including attention, executive functions and memory, throughout development. She investigates these effects in both clinical populations (e.g., Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, ADHD) and healthy individuals. Additionally, she is actively involved in developing and evaluating musical interventions to promote mental and cognitive health in older adults. Dr. Gosselin’s research has received support from various funding agencies, including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and the Quebec Research Fund – Health / Society and Culture.
Dr. Gosselin is also a Clinical Neuropsychologist and a supervisor in clinical neuropsychology. Her expertise in neuropsychological assessment covers various conditions (ADHD; dyslexia, dysorthographia, dyscalculia; intellectual disability, giftedness; traumatic brain injury, etc.) in children, adults, and older adults. She is a member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec, the Quebec Association of Neuropsychologists, and the American Psychological Association (see the Neuropsychological assessment services section for more details).
